Shield your children's eyes! Naked cookies!

I know that decorating the cookies is the part that is most fun! So if you'd like me to make the dough, roll them out and bake them for you so that you and your family can get to the fun part, please let me know. "Naked Cookies" will be $8 per dozen.

Christmas Trays

Secret Santa, Holiday Parties, Thank You's..........and the start of deer hunting season

I'm always amazed by the number of uses my cookies are put to: wedding favors, thank you's, secret Santa gifts, placecards, etc. But the one that takes the cake happened last week; a friend of mine didn't want the cute little reindeer with Christmas wreath around it's neck. She wanted plain deer to give to her family for the beginning of deer hunting season. Who am I to say? Although I did want to put little cross-hairs on there or write something like, "Don't kill me, I'm Bambi!" Or add very small gunshot holes. Just for fun. : ) I didn't, though.

Christmas, Christmas time is here...............

I'm one of those people who don't like to think about Christmas until Thanksgiving is over! Except that people are already placing orders for cookies...................so I thought I'd better make some you could pick from.

All cookies, except where noted, are $16 a dozen (roughly $1.30 ea). Please try to give as much lead time as possible so I can put you on my calendar. Email questions and orders to toocutetoeat1@yahoo.com, and not my work email.

They will be done in a variety of colors; just a representation is shown. Many can also be personalized. I hope you enjoy them. If you read some of my first posts, you'll see how this tradition started; I'm so glad that you let me carry it on! Thanks!

And...........they're off!

The past couple weeks have flown by! We found a house to purchase, put ours on the market, made an offer on the other house, it was accepted, the sign went in our yard on Friday, MLS number received on Monday, Tuesday was the realtor open house and the day pictures became available online; Thursday we had 3 people in the house and that night (tonight!) it sold. Before our first scheduled open house on Saturday. Wow! What a whirlwind! Here's a sample of the cookies we had for the realtor open house.

Disclaimer: REMAX does not endorse my cookies, although some did go back to the office with the realtors : )

Everybody's favorite train

Can't remember if I've posted this before; I did these for a friend's grandson's birthday. Thomas is his favorite! I thought they turned out OK.

November Cookie of the Month

Pictured to the right in my profile is this month's cookie(s) of the month. As usual, they'll be delivered mid month; date to be decided. Don't know about cookie of the month? Scroll down a few posts to see more pictures and what the Cookie of the Month Plan is. Email me at toocutetoeat1@yahoo.com to sign up.

News Flash

Here's the latest, which I've been bursting to tell you but wanted to make sure it was actually going to happen:
  1. I have approval from my town to put a commercial kitchen (small) in a residence, and have even told the local Health Dept. about my plans
  2. We found a house for sale that we thought had a room that would work.
  3. Had a company check it out and they said without too much trouble that it could be done without bringing in Ty Pennington and his crew from Extreme Home Makeover (who were nearby in Pekin this week!)
  4. Waiting to hear back from both the town and the company about a couple things. . . anyone who knows me knows I can pretend to be patient for a little bit. : )
  5. We've been cleaning and clearing our place like crazy - put it on the market today.
  6. And MADE AN OFFER on the other place.
  7. It will be quite some time before the actual work on the kitchen is done (or started, for that matter) but pretty soon I won't have to whisper that I bake cookies.
  8. And there will be room for all of our stuff (currently in vans, a garage, and a basement - thank you to the parents!)

Wish us luck! In the meantime, buy cookies! They're yummy!

Fall is here..................

OK, I have to admit it; fall is here. I'm still in denial. But to soothe my mind, I made some Halloween cookies. I didn't eat them; that would be accepting it - so instead I bagged them up and sent them to a United Way bake sale at work. Shocker - me not whip up a pie????? Anyway, happy fall!

New Recipes...........Tasters will be needed!

I'm working on some new flavors/recipes. Within the next month I hope to have a tasting party, where you'll have input on picking the best recipes! My current sugar cookies are so, well............"vanilla" in the cookie flavor landscape. Currently in the works are maple, lemon, orange, and cinammon/nutmeg. Frosting will stay the same - cream cheese! I'm also fiddling with a no/low-sugar option. Please email me at toocutetoeat1@yahoo.com with feedback about these options!

1st large cookie

And did I take a picture? No. One of these days I'll learn my lesson. It was very cute. 9x13; usual cookie thickness. White frosting, multi-colored sprinkles, red big "Thank You!" with smaller words around it: "Danke," "Merci," "Gracias," "Grazi" and a blue star tip edge. And I was sneaky and pre-cut the cookie before frosting it for easy scooping. As usual, if I recreate it at a later date, I'll post a pic here. : ) And YAY for convection, which baked my large cookie evenly.

Happy 1st Day of School!

Cookie-of-the-Month Plan

I've decided to launch a cookie-of-the-month program! You'll receive a dozen cookies in two predetermined designs for $10 per month. Three month minimum (must be consecutive). Styles and colors may vary from pictures below depending on what frosting I have on hand - no special color requests. Pick up only if we don't work together; otherwise I'll bring them with me to work and you can pick them up at my desk. These guidelines are what allow me to produce them at this lower cost for you. Good cookies, simpler designs, lower price = good for everyone!

Congrats to D.H, the first to sign up - she will receive 2 months free!

I'll be targeting the middle of each month to have them available. Tell a friend! Sorry I had to post each month separately to get the pics to line up right!
